Knowing is an illusion; you don't know nothing

These new paintings are dirty, nasty, and aggressive. Frustrated with so much of the Top 100 paintings of recent years, these are full of the anxiety of realizing what a bad painter I am. I thought I was pretty good, but even now in my sixties I realize I know nothing. I don't know anything about color, paints, techniques of old masters, nothing that matters at all. Knowledge is an illusion.
